This past weekend, the Lobstah Bots attended the North Shore District Event at Reading Memorial High School, debuting “Pufferfish,” our 2026 competition robot, after countless hours of CAD, building, wiring, programming, and more. With hundreds in the stands and even more watching through the livestream, the pressure was on—but there was nothing the Lobstahs couldn’t handle! After a day and a half of qualification matches, the Lobstahs made it to the Play-offs as a part of Alliance #4, alongside the KwarQs (Team 2423) and the PVC Pirates (Team 1058).
Under pressure, our fierce drive team was making strategic decisions and excellently executing both scoring and defense plays. Our claw-some pit crew was also hard at work between matches, swapping out parts and utilizing everything we had on-site to take Pufferfish all the way to Play-offs. Working hand-in-hand with the LigerBots (Team 2877), our diligent scouting team in the stands were scouring the fields every match and taking note of every detail of the robots, from points scored to teams’ unique driving patterns. And of course, none of this would be possible without our phenomenal mentors supporting us every step of the way—from opening the lab for hours every day to braving food poisoning just to show up for us: they have our Lobstah-backs.

In addition to playing some amazing matches, the Lobstah Bots also won the Imagery Award at the event! Our asymmetrical robot being inspired by nature (the differences in the sizes of lobster claws), the shoulder lobsters, and headbands being integral parts of our branding, the event judges recognized our effort in showing off our lobster pride with this award. Now our seventh award in the Lobstah collection, we have the longest living streak winning a unique award at every event. (See our history here: https://www.lobstahbots.com/awards)

Now Larry has one more award to look at while resting on the blue banner!
Team 246 is now looking forward to a couple weeks of intense robot-adapting to reach Pufferfish’s full potential. Up next, the Greater Boston District Event!
